There is no legal requirement for an ISBN Number, but to sell publication through significant bookselling chain or e-commerce portals like Amazon, you will require an ISBN to assist in internal processing and ordering system, just like the barcodes. Similarly, ISSN is needed for Serials, Periodicals & Journals.
